Poetry and more from Eduardo Cardoso

Eduardo's Vispo combines a range of mail art elements and he uses them quietly, and aesthetically in a way we can all recognise as Eduardo Vispo. On the enevelope I see trashpo, asemics, artistamps. Even the Postruguese stamp feels like Eduardo choreographed it!  The Asian feel of Eduardo's work appeals to me enormously.  I wish I could hold back the way Eduardo does…

Eduardo, my life is going well.  Maybe tomorrow I will be as Zen as you!  Many thanks.

On the back of the envelope I have found Eduardo's blog.  And he's a musician!  Check it out:

Theresa Williams , Blue Velvis: a story with pictures

Theresa sent me a copy of this wonderful book (published by Easy Street Publications) although I think Theresa referred to as a zine. Whatever the genre, it is a beautifully realised story with remarkable characters.  I am not surprised that Blue Velvis was the winner of a $10,000 grant from  the Ohio Arts Council and was nominated for a Pushcart Prize!

I recommend Blue Velvis wholeheartedly.  contact Theresa at: theresarrt7@aol.com if you are interested in buying a copy!

Artistamps and Summer Jam from C Mehrl Bennett

Always delighted and in awe when I receive artistamps!  I don't get them very often and simply adore them. I never use them.  Should I? I have thought about scanning them and using the scan - attributing the artist if their name isn't clearly there, etc… but even that feels a bit presumptious! For the moment I have them on my desk, partially unfurled so I can unfold them and take a closer look, over and over.

Also delightd to have this hot pink small press publication collaboration.  Lots to enjoy, words, images and play! My summer jam never felt so sensual!

Mail Art Martha's Observations on a French Beach

I feel as if I've been on holiday with Mailart Martha after reading her (soon to be classic, but don't worry I won't flog it on ebay) wonderful small press title, Quick Sketches by the Sea: Collioure. Sept 2014.

The format of the boekie is one of those ingenious folded A4 zines. Great story, great edges, great characters!  This was a quick reply from Martha who has just back from her travels. Many thanks Mailart martha.  I will be bringing this into school with me to inspire the kiddies!  It certainly inspires me!

Succulent Mixed Media Collage - Susan McAllister

You get the feel of the colours in this scan but miss the precision of the marks on each of the layers of this yummy piece from Ssuan.  She suggests on the back that it is a thank you for something I sent her.  WELL THANK YOU Susan.  I wish I could shrink another version and make a pair of earrings from this. It is very cool, very haptic, just delicious!

Exquisite original watercolours from Guido Vermeulen

I'm not sure how I got so lucky to receive FOUR original beauties from Guido. I am terribly behind in correspondence (I blame the series of mail art exhibitions I've been involved with this year).  Still, people with whom I was once in regular contact with have been neglected.  So you can imagine my delight when I opened Guido's envelope to find these radiant 3 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch watercolours.
Do You LIke My Fangs? - June 2014

Standing Stone in my Living Room - June 2014

This in not the End of our Conversations - June 2014
Courir À la Rencontre de la Nuit Prochaine - June 2014
Although the titles suggest that Guido doesn't mean for these to be uplifting, or joyous, I can't help but be overjoyed by these!
